Heather Smith showing her Wonder Woman tattoo

Can you tell that Heather Smith is a Wonder Woman fan?

But...how many WW fans do you know who actually LOOK like Wonder Woman?!

(Naturally, we all wonder how the glasses are supposed to keep Diana's real identity a secret...)

Especially nice is that he references the current events/cultural scene of the moment so that we can appreciate not only the individual heroines, but what they represented within their own time periods. Fun with Allie and Art Cloos!

Art and Allie Cloos visiting the Marston Wonder Woman museumComiCONN 2012 banner by Russell Rainbolt

Allie & Art are both major league collectors. Wonder Woman and Batman are unbelievably well represented in the Cloos household. Allie favors Wonder Woman, and Art goes with Batman [since Art's so cool, we forgave him his choice of collectibles...] We've been trying to get together for ages, and ComiCONN provided the impetus, at last!

We met up at ComiCONN in Trumbull, CT. After we all finished our viewing [and shopping!] we re-convened back at the homestead to peruse the museum, and enjoy a long overdue visit together!

Art and Allie are both walking encyclopedias on Wonder Woman collectibles [and, obviously, on that Batguy, too]! They would make the most perfect tour guides for the museum...but for some strange reason they are not willing to just give up their home and move here.

Shockingly, Allie found a luchbox which she does not [yet] have!

It was such a pleasure having these two wonderful people here for a visit!

Beverly Lanzilla BCTCC Wonder WomanWe were welcomed at the door by Beverly Ball O' Fire [well, Beverly Lanzilla] with her huge warm smile, and felt instantly at home. She gave Pete a big hug, adorned him with a Wonder Woman lanyard, and put a wonderful WW journal into his hands. It all happened so fast that we missed our photo op...and kept missing it, because this dynamic woman was on the move nonstop all night, keeping the event running smoothly! Most definitely a Wonder Woman!

[had to swipe this pic off the BATCC site from last year's event...okay, she IS kissing Superman, but certainly Wonder Woman had her kisses, too! ]

We started to tour the displays before sitting down to a delicious dinner, but never really got to see everything because we kept meeting interesting and entertaining people!

There were speakers, incredible raffles, a silent auction, a Happy 70th Birthday to Wonder Woman, and plenty of comraderie and good humor - altogether, a perfect night!

Thank you, BATCC!

BACTT founder Stephen LanzillaAnother shot we missed! Stephen Lanzilla, founder of BATCC was kept hopping all night! Above, Stephen being interviewed, shown in a photo taken by G. Sullivan [uh huh, 'borrowed' this one off the BATCC site, too... visit their site at http://bostontoyclub.com ]

At right, and in the sidebar pics, you can see a little bit of Steve Sylvia's very impressive Wonder Woman collection which he brought to help celebrate Wonder Woman's 70th birthday. We didn't have a chance to discuss his entire collection, but will report back as we learn more!.

We're expanding the museum!

What started innocently enough as new gallery space with Chris Hayes' Amazon Archives/Al Rio art wall last fall (scroll down for those pics) just sort of...grew! It now includes the WW library, and a few other odds and ends that required more leisurely viewing (to say nothing of space for a cup of coffee...or something!).

the New York Comic Con 2010 adventure

Pete Marston New York Comic Con new costume Wonder Woman statue New York Comic Con

We finally made it to a Comic Con!

What with the panel that Pete was on and the general chaos, we didn't actually get to see all that much of the action at NYCC, but the DC booth was a must!

On the left, Pete Marston checks out the new Wonder Woman statue - in her new costume - due out next spring. She's pretty cute [whoever she is...]

Funny but true - I finally spotted one cosplayer in this outfit at NYCC, but nobody recognized her - even in the DC booth!!

Our friend Barbara Moss - oh, strike that! - our friend, Suzy Creamcheeze has a classic moment of delayed recognition while we are in the DC booth chatting with Dan DiDio:

"Oh! You're THAT Dan! I know you! I've fallen asleep with your name in my head many times!"

Dan questions whether that is a good thing... when he finally stops laughing, he continues on to tell us how busy Wonder Woman is going to be in times to come!

A major treat of the NYCC day was meeting friends Robert 'Bobby' Jones, Jr. and David Berger, from the CBR Wonder Woman Forum face-to-face for the first time. We had about 90 seconds to say 'Hello' and for Pete to snap a quick picture before we were herded into the panel room!
